Marcus Rashford has stepped up his bid to secure a dream move to Barcelona this summer.
The Manchester United outcast gave his representatives the green light to hold talks with Barca bosses in Spain. It remains to be seen if United and Barca can strike a deal for the disillusioned forward.
But Rashford is determined to leave his hometown club - and has set his heart on joining the Catalan giants. Rashford's agent and brother, Dwaine Maynard, met Barca sporting director Deco this week in the hope of reaching an agreement.
United value Rashford at £40m and are prepared to sell him to the highest bidder to end his time at Old Trafford.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is desperate to get the £300,000-a-week star off the club's crippling wage bill.

But Rashford's blockbuster contract, which runs until 2028, remains the main stumbling block for Barca and other interested clubs.
One option open to United is to agree a loan fee with Barca, with a view to making the deal permanent next summer.
But United would prefer to see the 27-year-old make a permanent move elsewhere, without them having to contribute towards his wages.
Rashford rediscovered some of his best form after spending the second half of the Premier League season on-loan at Aston Villa.
But Villa's failure to secure Champions League qualification has ruined the chances of Rashford remaining at Villa Park.

Rashford wants to be playing for a team in the Champions League, to boost his chances of making Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 World Cup.
