Manchester United have been terrible for a little while now, and, as you can imagine, fans are getting frustrated.
Indeed, Manchester United supporters are utterly fed up, and, sadly, that’s when things can start to turn nasty.
United have had a number of scapegoats over the years. Rasmus Hojlund has received plenty of stick this season, while Andre Onana has been under the microscope too.
Harry Maguire has received plenty of criticism over the years, and speaking on the Business of Sport Podcast, Patrice Evra has been discussing the way Maguire has been treated by some, and it’s fair to say he’s not liked what he’s seen.

Patrice Evra says Harry Maguire has been treated unfairly
Evra spoke about how Maguire has been treated by fans online over the years.
The pundit says that it’s been disgusting the way Maguire has been treated by supporters online, claiming that he deserves a lot of credit for the way he’s stayed focused at United.
“Now everyone behind his computer can judge you. What they did to Harry Maguire was disgusting,” Evra said.
“Lot of things like that. I think that it’s bullying because they were like, he’s the worst player in the history. We bought him for like £80m.
“They went to his house. They did like lot of things. And for him, that’s why I give him a lot of credit to stick and to stay at Man United and what he’s doing, the way he’s performing.”
How Harry Maguire deals with criticism
Maguire has had lots of criticism over the past few years, and it’s something that he’s very much got used to at this point.
As Evra says, Maguire has managed to stay focused during this time, and the player himself has commented on how he deals with criticism, particularly during England games.
“I would not say I am used to it, but I can deal with it. It pretty much takes the pressure away from my team-mates and puts it all on myself. It makes them play better, for sure. It is a little bit of banter and it is a hostile environment, coming away to Scotland,” Maguire once said, via Sky Sports.
“We have given them a goal, which is unfortunate. We knew it would be hostile and in the second half, I got most of it. I am happy to go with that, don’t worry about that.”
Maguire, somehow, manages to block out the criticism, and it doesn’t seem to affect him too much, but, as Evra says, it really isn’t acceptable for fans to be treating any player in this way.
