Emerging Thunder Star Roasts Anthony Edwards After Timberwolves Series

Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren never forgot. Back in February, the former Gonzaga Bulldogs star was put on a poster by high-flying Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves

"Shout out to Chet. Welcome home, baby," Edwards said after watching the video of his dunk at that time.

Months later, Holmgren used that same line to troll Edwards.

Following the Thunder's series-clinching 124-94 win in Game 5 of the 2025 Western Conference finals against the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Holmgren posted the same video of Edwards in what can be interpreted as a good old ribbing by the lanky Oklahoma City power forward.

The Thunder did not give Minnesota much of a chance in Game 5, as they dominated the contest from start to finish. Oklahoma City ended the first quarter with a 17-point lead, and by halftime, they were already sitting on a 33-point cushion.

It was utter domination for Holmgren and the Thunder, who shot 52.3 percent from the field while limiting Minnesota to just 41.2 percent shooting.

Holmgren had 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 30 minutes of action. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced the Thunder with 34 points on his way to winning the Western Conference finals Most Valuable Player award.

For his part, Edwards had 19 points for the Timberwolves, who have now lost in the Western Conference for the second consecutive year.

As the Timberwolves head to the offseason, the Thunder prepare for the 2025 NBA Finals, where they will be meeting the winner of the Eastern Conference finals series between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers.
