Domino falls for 'dream' Marcus Rashford move as Barcelona finalise summer agreement

Marcus Rashford’s chances of leaving Manchester United for Barcelona this summer just increased.

Despite scoring the first-ever goal under Ruben Amorim’s management, Marcus Rashford was frozen out at Manchester United by the Portuguese head coach.

Amorim criticised Rashford’s attitude in training and a loan move to Aston Villa swiftly followed. It is now widely accepted that Rashford has played his last ever game in a United shirt with a permanent exit expected this summer.

Villa cannot afford Rashford’s £40 million price tag this summer so the 27-year-old has now been offered up to clubs all around Europe.

In January, Rashford’s ‘dream’ was to join Barcelona, and things are now falling into place to make it happen.

Barcelona strike deal that could lead to Marcus Rashford move

Earlier this week, transfer expert Graeme Bailey confirmed to United in Focus that Rashford is putting all efforts into joining Barcelona this summer.

The only potential stumbling block is Barcelona’s financial health, with the La Liga club having to find loopholes to get deals over the line in recent years.

However, it seems Barcelona are actively making space for Rashford to join their squad.

Fati’s exit from Camp Nou opens up space for Rashford to join the Spanish giants – provided they can splash £40 million on his signature.

Marcus Rashford to Barcelona is a huge win for Man United

While Rashford didn’t rule out returning to United this summer, it has always felt as though his time at Old Trafford is up.

Amorim is entering a new era at United and is focused on bringing players into the club that desperately want to play at Old Trafford.

The good news for United is that if Rashford does join Barcelona this summer, there is less of a chance for his exit to come back and bite the Red Devils.

If Rashford was sold to Premier League opposition, he would have the chance to haunt United in league fixtures every season.

United players have often improved after leaving Old Trafford, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Rashford continue that worrying trend next season.

However, if he hits the ground running in Spain, it’s much easier for United fans to be happy for him compared to if he was wearing the shirt of a Premier League rival.
