Into our second year of the hummel kit deal and now that the season is over and we can look forward to the next, Sunderland supporters everywhere are wondering about what kits the team will be wearing in the Premier League for the 2025/26 season.
The away shirt has already been leaked, thanks to some eagle-eyed supporters who were down Roker Beach and spotted models and the club out and about taking part in a photoshoot for the new offering — which appears to be a take on the kit we wore in the late 80s and early 90s, perhaps most famously worn by the G Force during our First Division Playoff Semi Final win away at Newcastle in 1990.
Along with the traditional hummel chevrons on the shoulders, the shirt features a new front of shirt sponsor - betting company W88, who have also sponsored Aston Villa, Wolves, Crystal Palace and Burnley in recent seasons, will replace SpreadEx after their deal with the club expired.
The kit deal with hummel that was first launched last summer has been an unprecedented success, with Sunderland supporters breaking records for the amount of shirts sold. Several ‘time capsule’ offerings were dropped throughout the course of last season, and the return of a brand to Wearside that first became popular over thirty years ago has undoubtedly been a roaring victory for both the club and the kitmakers.
Rumours on social media have indicated that the new third strip, images of which have not yet been leaked online, is one of our best strips of recent times.
The new home shirt, however, will certainly turn heads if the images passed to Roker Report are of the true, new design, which is set to hit the club shop over the coming summer.

_(Ed’s Note: Just in case anyone’s daft enough to think it — no, there isn’t an RR logo on the sleeve... unless the club fancy putting us one on there for nowt?!)_
Featuring black chevrons on the shoulders and unique red and white stripes, the kit is a slightly different take on the version released for the 2024/25 campaign, which was a more retro hummel design in the vein of the kits they produced for us during the 80s.
Like the away shirt, it has a thick layered collar which is black and has a red and white border, with the hummel and sponsor logo in black.
If this is the actual shirt, will you be buying it? What do you think? Would you prefer to see it in person before casting judgement? Let us know!
