LeBron James sends special message to Liverpool title winners

NBA legend LeBron James has sent a message to the Liverpool squad after claiming the club’s 20th league title this past season.

James, who purchased a 2% stake in Liverpool FC in 2011 before converting it to a 1% stake in Fenway Sports Group, has been a vocal supporter of the club throughout his ownership tenure.

His investment came as part of a partnership deal where FSG became his chief marketing agency in exchange for the minority ownership position.

The basketball legend has visited Anfield on multiple occasions and has been photographed touring the stadium and meeting with players.

In a video message, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, LeBron James poured the praise on Arne Slot’s men, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah getting a special mention.

The video was shown to the players at an end-of-season party held at the Municipal Hotel:

“I want to say congratulations to the champions of the English Premier League, once again bringing home another trophy.”

“You know it is always special to do it with a group of guys that you love. It is super special.”

“Shout out to the captains, Virgil and Mo, salute to you brothers. Continue to lead, continue to strive for greatness and always know You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

“So go Reds. Love you guys.”

Meanwhile, James also addressed the unfortunate incident that occured at Liverpool’s title parade on Monday.

The title celebration y began as a joyous occasion with an estimated one million fans lining the streets for the club’s victory parade, but the festivities took a tragic turn when a vehicle collision occurred in the city centre.

Liverpool FC CEO Billy Hogan has issued a statement on the matter, with more information to come in the coming days.

Taking to X, LeBron James also sent a tweet of support:
