Daniel Farke has been carefully planning out how Leeds United’s summer transfer will look, following their promotion to the Premier League.
This summer’s transfer window looks like it could shape Leeds United’s fortunes for a long time to come.
The 49ers want Leeds United to stabilise in the Premier League and manager Daniel Farke will of course be determined to keep his job, following reports that Leeds United wanted to sack Farke following promotion, so a good summer transfer window is vital.
It’s been reported that Leeds United are ready to spend £100million on new signings this summer and we’ve seen a horde of players linked with Leeds United already this summer, with the summer transfer window opening on June 1st.
There are a variety of players linked with a move to Elland Road. But Farke is keen to instil a theme into his summer signings, which is Premier League experience.

Daniel Farke wants to sign Premier League players for Leeds United
An emerging report from The Athletic has delved into Leeds United’s transfer policy this summer, revealing exactly the type of player that Farke wants to recruit at Elland Road. Namely, it’s players who have a track record of keeping teams in the Premier League.
Beren Cross writes that ‘the data department has done a lot of research into what it takes to stay in the Premier League’ and that ‘players who have successfully kept clubs up over the last few years have been profiled’ by Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window opening in the coming days.
Cross adds that Leeds United will still sign a mixture of profiles this summer, but that ‘Premier League players are what they want’ at Leeds United. It comes as no surprise that Farke wants Premier League-ready players after the last six teams promoted from the Championship have all come straight back down.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
All signs point towards a bit of a revamp of the playing squad at Leeds United this summer. Farke’s first-team squad is relatively small as it is and he has a lot of players with little-to-no Premier League experience.
Speaking after the club secured promotion from the Championship, Farke made his first demand of the 49ers ahead of the summer, simply asking for the club to show ambition. He said: “We are not allowed at this moment to label us as an established Premier League side, we’ve just played three years of Premier League level in the last 23 years.
“One really good season under Marcelo and then two years of suffering. In the third year, there was a relegation. We’ve done the first step and, in a few days, we will work on it to see what we can do.
“We want to become an established Premier League side but lots of work is needed, lots of ambition is needed, but we’ll worry about the stress in a few days.”
Ambition is the very least that Leeds United need this summer. Along with money and an eagerness to get deals done early on, Leeds United and Farke also need a clear structure to their transfer plans, which he appears to have following this latest reveal from The Athletic.
Who ends up at Elland Road this summer remains a bit of a mystery: there could be one or two really surprising signings in what is bound to be an exciting transfer window nonetheless.
