They have had contact with the Spanish club and player’s representatives. The £84m – £130-rated Brazilian winger is in a tricky situation. Madrid as a club, however, is looking to re-shape their team under new boss Xabi Alonso. Rodrygo has scored 13 goals and assisted 10 this season. But his playing time has suffered from the stack of the competition created by Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr.

Through all the transfer talk, Rodrygo remains committed to Madrid. He would like to remain and to prove his talents to the new manager, Xabi Alonso. Rodrygo is keen to fulfill a promise he made to himself to work his way up through the ranks at Madrid, rather than leave the club to join either the Premier League or different parts of Europe. His representatives have been speaking with suitors, however they fully believe that they will not have a decision to announce until after the Club World Cup has finished.
