'Sorry Harry': Aaron Lennon says striker Man Utd signed on a free transfer was even better than Harry Kane

Manchester United have had some absolutely incredible strikers over the years.

Wayne Rooney was an all-time great, Robin van Persie was deadly in front of goal, while Ruud van Nistelrooy was an incredible finisher.

Speaking to Soccer Aid on TikTok, Aaron Lennon has now been taking part in a challenge where he’s compared some Premier League greats to Harry Kane.

Kane is a world-class striker in his own right, but according to Lennon, one former Manchester United striker was actually better than Kane.

Indeed, Lennon picked Zlatan Ibrahimovic over Kane, claiming that the former United ace is one of the greatest of all-time.

Aaron Lennon picks Zlatan Ibrahimovic over Harry Kane

Lennon took part in a TikTok challenge where he had to stay quiet until he heard the name of a striker better than Harry Kane.

Lennon allowed the likes of Van Persie, Robbie Fowler and Sergio Aguero to pass him by, but he ultimately said that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was better than Kane.

‘Stay quiet until you hear a better striker than Harry Kane,” Lennon was told.

“Zlatan,” The interviewer said.

‘Yeah, Zlatan, Zlatan was some player, I’ve got to give it to him, Sorry Harry, but those boys are the GOATs,” Lennon said.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic compared to Harry Kane

Lennon reckons that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was better than Harry Kane, and this is a very interesting debate to say the least.

On one hand, Ibrahimovic has won way more than Kane across multiple countries, but, at the same time, Kane has a better goalscoring record over his career.

Comparing these two players makes for interesting reading.

In terms of success, Ibrahimovic is clear of Kane, but as a pure goalscorer, Kane does edge Ibrahimovic here.

Ultimately, these are two of the greatest strikers of all-time, and while it was short and sweet, Ibrahimovic did light up the Premier League after he arrived at Manchester United on a free transfer in 2016.
