Manchester United made a terrible start to their post-season tour of Asia with a 1-0 defeat to ASEAN All-Stars.
Just as Manchester United fans thought they could put the miserable 2024/25 campaign to the back of their mind, the Red Devils hit a new low in Malaysia.
United were beaten 1-0 by ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur, with Ruben Amorim cutting a frustrated figure on the sidelines as his side once again struggled to create chances.
Ineos should be humiliated by the tour, which was designed to add an extra £8 million to the club’s revenue.
When asked about the approach to United’s first of two friendly matches, Amorim disagreed with what Amad Diallo said.

Ruben Amorim and Amad Diallo clash on Man United approach
Amorim was impressed by United’s youth in the defeat to ASEAN All-Stars, but that was about the only positive that the Portuguese head coach could take from the clash.
United’s senior players were disappointing and there was a worrying lack of intensity from the Red Devils.
More United News
As quoted by Manchester Evening News, Amad insists United were at full focus: “We played the game yesterday like a real game, we were really focused.”
However, Amorim had a very different view on United’s approach.
“I think it is clear that it is really tough for us in this moment not to close the season.
“But one thing that is really important is that we need to face our fans. Amad is trying to explain, but we were not really focused in the last game and everyone can feel it.
“We just want to turn the page and improve in the next season.”
What is next for Man United this summer?
After losing to ASEAN All-Stars in Malaysia, United have travelled to Hong Kong for the final friendly of the post-season tour.
Amorim sounds as if he’s ready to finish up the 2024/25 season and focus all attention on next season, and the performance against the All-Stars suggests the players are in the same mindset.
Once the tour of Asia is concluded, Ineos will accelerate United’s transfer business with Matheus Cunha set to join imminently.

Hopefully, more signings are made in time for United’s pre-season tour of the United States, set to begin in July.
United will learn their Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 season on June 18th, with the season set to begin on Friday, August 15th.
