Mike Vrabel sends strong message to Stefon Diggs after viral boat video

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel sent a strong message to first-year receiver Stefon Diggs after the four-time Pro Bowl wideout was [captured on video](https://x.com/jerrythornton1/status/1927479953500602744) with multiple females on a boat earlier this week.

Vrabel was asked in particular about an unidentified pink substance that Diggs was holding while on the boat.

The first-year head coach said that the Patriots are aware of the video and that Diggs is holding a substance and they would like to see him make better decisions moving forward.

"Well, it’s something that we’re aware of and obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field," [Mike Vrabel said](https://x.com/_CaseyBaker/status/1927763225296220534). “So the message will be the same for all the players, that we’re trying to make great decisions and any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club.”

Stefon Diggs was at the Patriots facility last week but did not attend Wednesday’s voluntary team activity.

With that said, Vrabel has been in touch with the 31-year-old.

"I talk to our players every single day – the ones that are here and the ones that aren’t," he said.

Vrabel said the coaches will continue to work with the players who do attend voluntary workouts, which has been mostly everyone, and will stay in touch with the ones who do not.

“Everything that we’re going to do is we’re going to coach the guys that show up at 8. And the ones that say, ‘Hey, I’ve got a situation, I’ll be there at 8:05;’ we’ll coach those, as well,” Vrabel said. “This is a voluntary part of our offseason program, and every player that’s not here, which there aren’t many, have been in communication with me and their position coaches.”

Stefon Diggs is entering his first season with the Patriots after previously playing for the Vikings, Bills and most recently Texans.

The former Maryland star is a dynamic playmaker who has topped the 1,000-yard mark in a season six times in his career, including in 2020 when he led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards with 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns.

Diggs tore his ACL in Week 8 last season and is working his way back to action. Vrabel also provided an update on how his recovery is going.

"The timeline and prognosis and everything… we’re working hard to get him back and to be ready to go,“ Vrabel said. ”But when he’s here we’ll coach him and we’ll have everything ready to go."
