The Pittsburgh Steelers have begun OTA's as the 2025 NFL season continues to draw closer. Before we know it, live football will be back on television with the preseason getting underway. For now, the Steelers are simply trying to finish out their roster moves for the offseason.
At this point, the team still doesn't know who its starting quarterback will be. Aaron Rodgers has yet to sign and there has been no indication about when he might do so.
For many fans and analysts, the Rodgers situation has become annoying. Everyone simply wants him to sign with Pittsburgh so that the team and everyone else knows what to expect.
Right now, the Steelers have Mason Rudolph and Will Howard on their roster. Both quarterbacks are talented, but they would not be able to provide an ideal starting situation under center. Pittsburgh truly needs Rodgers to compete for a Super Bowl.

Fox Sports analyst Joy Taylor has had enough of the situation. She spoke out recently on "Speak" and put both the Steelers and Rodgers on blast.
"Why? This is the Pittsburgh Steelers — they have six Lombardis. They're coached by a first-ballot Hall of Famer — Mike Tomlin, who's never had a losing season," Taylor said. "And we're sitting around talking about 'Aaron Rodgers is not there on the first day of OTAs.' Mandatory or not — where is your pride? Where is your dignity? Where is your respect for the game? Where's your respect for this organization? Where's this organization's respect for the history that they have in this league?"
Taylor's frustration is shared by man fans. Pittsburgh simply wants to know if Rodgers is going to be the team's quarterback or not.
Rodgers, on the other hand, is in no rush to sign. He has been dealing with personal situations away from football this offseason and has chosen to focus on those before going all-in with his new team.
It's still extremely likely that the 41-year-old will be the Steelers' quarterback. Pittsburgh likely would not have waited this long to address the position if it felt that Rodgers was unlikely to sign.

While the situation is not ideal, the Steelers clearly value Rodgers enough to wait. Even at his age, he's the kind of quarterback that could power them to championship contention.
During the 2024 NFL season with the New York Jets, Rodgers completed 63 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Those numbers would be a huge upgrade over Pittsburgh had under center last year.
Expect to continue hearing more news and rumors about Pittsburgh and Rodgers. Hopefully, the situation will be resolved in the near future and the Steelers can begin focusing on preparing for the 2025 season.
