The 30-year-old Spanish center is under contract through the 2025–26 season, as part of the three-year deal he signed with Barcelona in 2023.

Barcelona explored options regarding Willy Hernangomez's contract, according to sources, but both sides remain focused on honoring the current deal.

Barcelona narrowly missed a spot in the EuroLeague Final Four, falling just one shot short in a tightly contested best-of-five playoff series against AS Monaco. The Catalan side was without three key players—Jan Vesely, Nicolas Laprovittola, and Chimezie Metu—throughout the series.

Hernangomez delivered solid performances during the playoffs, averaging 10.4 points on 70.8% shooting from two-point range, along with 3.8 rebounds (including 2.0 offensive boards) and a 14.4 PIR in just 18 minutes per game.

His standout performance came in Game 3, where he kept Barcelona’s EuroLeague season alive with 19 points, 10 rebounds (7 offensive), and a game-high 31 PIR to extend the series after the team fell behind 0–2.

The 2022 EuroBasket MVP ranked second on the team in playoff PIR and was fourth in scoring during the series.

Hernangomez has also shown strong form in domestic play, most recently recording 16 points and 10 rebounds for a 27 efficiency rating in an ACB loss to Baskonia. Over his last five ACB appearances, he’s averaging 11.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 18.4 PIR.
