Chet Holmgren Takes Shot at Anthony Edwards in Message After Thunder's Game 5 Win

Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren has been proving every one of his doubters wrong during the team's current playoff run.

On Wednesday night, Holmgren and the Thunder knocked off the Minnesota Timberwolves -- defeating them 124-94 -- to advance to the NBA Finals.

The series victory, coming in just five games, proved how much of a buzzsaw the Thunder are. Holmgren plays a crucial role in Oklahoma City's dominance, too.

Holmgren had 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding seven rebounds and three blocks, as the Thunder punched their ticket to the Finals for the first time in 13 years.

The 7-footer has proven his ability to play into the Thunder's big three, joining Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, to help dominate their opposition.

He also had a homecoming in the Western Conference Finals, as the Gonzaga product grew up in Minnesota.

Holmgren seemingly takes shot at Anthony Edwards

An older video of Anthony Edwards welcoming home Holmgren resurfaced during the series, too, particularly as the Thunder closed out the Timberwolves.

After the win, Holmgren shared an Instagram post, which was captioned "Welcome home chet."

Holmgren's caption seemingly echoed what Edwards told him in the "welcome home" video, which was more so a shot at him.

Holmgren gets the last laugh, however, as he played a pivotal role in sending Edwards home for the offseason.

The Thunder will now take on either the Indiana Pacers or New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, depending on the result of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Pacers lead the Knicks 3-1 in the series, though recent history has shown that doesn't mean the series is quite decided.

Regardless of which team the Thunder matches up against, they will be a heavy favorite to raise their first banner in franchise history, which dates back to 2008.
