Arsenal and Chelsea monitor Rodrygo ahead of manager conversation–Gunners have moved

Arsenal and Chelsea are closely monitoring Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid, which will be determined by new manager Xabi Alonso.

That’s according to AS, who say Rodrygo has now shortage of possible destinations this summer and both Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to move.

The newspaper explains that Real Madrid have not officially communicated anything about the Brazilian’s future as yet. Nor has he asked to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

But it accepted that he would be an ideal player for Real Madrid to sell to help fund other transfers, perhaps even a big money signing for Alonso. The Spanish coach is set to speak to Rodrygo, who is also waiting to speak to his new manager.

In the meantime, Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring his situation. Arsenal were one of the first to position themselves. They’ve held the first, informal, contacts about a transfer. Nothing has gone further than that. They would welcome him with open arms, though.

Chelsea also like him a lot. They believe he could be one of the ‘crown jewels’ if they were able to take him to Stamford Bridge. Their interest has not materialised into anything like an informal survey. That can change quickly if they receive any signal from Madrid or the player.

It’s a situation to be determined and depends on that chat with Alonso, but Arsenal and Chelsea are waiting.
