The Denver Broncos had a chance to reunite with franchise icon Von Miller in free agency if the two sides wanted to. While there is still a chance for the two sides to link up, a recent interview with Miller shut down those conversations.
Andrew Mason of Denver Sports 104.3 shared a post on Twitter/X with Miller's response to being asked if he'd head back to the Broncos. Miller shut down that idea entirely.
"It really doesn't make sense," Miller said. "They've got two really good rushers that are the best in the league. And with Jonathan Cooper and Nik Bonitto, they are incredible rushers."
Miller shut down returning to the Broncos, but did so by complementing the current edge rushers on the Broncos staff. Nik Bonitto and Jonathan Cooper are both great edge rushers, and their presence is a huge reason for Miller being unlikely to return to Denver for 2025.
He also pointed out their backups and the depth on the roster as a reason for him being unlikely to return to Denver. "The guys underneath them, they come in and produce sacks too," Miller said. "They play special teams. I'm not playing special teams, so the decision kind of makes itself. I think at 36 years old, I can say that I probably won't be doing that."

The veteran edge rusher hasn't played on special teams for any consistent period in his NFL career. He's had a total of 23 snaps on special teams across his 13-year career.
Miller is an eight-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro edge rusher, with two Super Bowl championships under his belt. During his NFL career, Miller has totaled 129.5 sacks and 171 tackles for loss. He's the active sack leader and will likely find a new home for 2025.
While Miller shut down the possibility of returning to Denver, he did leave the door open for 2026.
"This year, probably not. But, the year after that, next year, we'll see what happens."
Miller is a Broncos legend, and while he shut down his return to the team in 2025, he did leave the door open to returning to the Broncos for the 2026 season. As Miller is in the final years of his career, he could return to Denver for his final year in the NFL.
