Kelce-owned beer company buys stake in area football team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - “It’s GOOD to be GOAT.”

That’s what Garage Beer released in a statement on Thursday morning that it is now a part-owner of the St. Joseph Goats, formerly known as the Kansas City Goats.

The Goats are one of five teams in The Arena League, which had its inaugural season a year ago. A month ago, The Goats announced they had moved from Kansas City to St. Joseph.

“This is more than a sponsorship—it’s a bold, possibly confusing leap into the world of professional sports ownership, and we couldn’t be more excited," Garage Beer stated.

Garage Beer is owned by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.

The Goats ownership group includes former Chiefs running back Christian Okoye.

The Goats will play their 2025 season at the Civic Arena. Their home slate is:

June 7 at 7:05 p.m. vs Duluth

June 21 at 5:05 p.m. vs Iowa

June 28th at 7:05 p.m. vs Eau Claire

July 12th at 7:05 p.m. vs Hot Springs
