Report: Everton player’s reps in secret talks with Premier League rivals over summer move

Everton fans may be disappointed to learn they’ve lost out on Liam Delap to Chelsea.

The news could get even worse as the Londoners are now looking to plot a raid on Everton for one of their players.

David Moyes is keen to take his squad to the next level this summer in what is the Friedkins’ first summer window on Merseyside.

Joining in recent weeks, Angus Kinnear is expecting a busy summer with transfer arrivals at Everton.

However, the Friedkins are also going to be cautious about keeping their best talents around with the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on the horizon.

Everton are keen to add to four key positions this summer to hand Moyes a squad worthy of playing in such an impressive stadium.

Chelsea are looking to spoil that, though, having just made contact with one of Everton’s best players.

On Thursday, it was claimed Chelsea had beaten Everton to signing Delap, with the young striker set to sign for the London side.

But the blow could be made even worse as Chelsea look to Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as an option for the summer.

According to one journalist, Chelsea have touched base over a potential move for the young Everton defender.

Chelsea have enquired again for Jarrad Branthwaite and advancing on talks for Jorrel Hato. Blues ideally want 2 new defenders.

Chelsea are looking to add two new defenders this summer and have also made contact over Jorrel Hato.

Everton remain confident of keeping Branthwaite as the Toffees head into their new state-of-the-art stadium.

Perhaps there may be some worries with Chelsea now able to offer players Champions League after finishing in fourth.

It has been suggested in the past that Branthwaite wants to play European football, but Everton will insist on not weakening their squad.

Selling Branthwaite would be a terrible look for the Friedkins

The Friedkin Group are ready to splash the cash at Everton in the summer transfer window.

Money is going to be needed to improve the quality of the starting XI and add squad depth over the coming months.

Allowing Branthwaite who’s viewed as an Everton ‘leader’ to depart in such a monumental summer would send a terrible message on the ambition of the new owners.

Of course, selling Branthwaite would bring in a huge amount of money, but Everton do not hold major PSR worries anymore.

Interesting weeks lie ahead for Everton.
