Turkish giants Galatasaray are pushing to win the race to sign Wolves defender Nelson Semedo on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
The right-back made the move to Molineux back in the summer of 2020, when he signed from La Liga giants Barcelona.
Since joining the Premier League side, the Portugal international has become a vital member of the squad as one of their most consistent performers.
Indeed, it was Semedo who replaced Mario Lemina as Wolves captain after the latter was stripped of the role earlier this season.
However, the right-back is now in line to leave the club himself this summer, with a potential move to Turkey on the cards.

With his contract at Molineux due to expire at the end of this season, it was previously claimed Semedo will have to accept a pay cut to stay at Wolves and extend his deal.

It is now understood that the Premier League side have offered the 31-year-old a new contract, but that he is in line to leave as a free agent this summer regardless.
Galatasaray are keen to take advantage of that by offering him a lucrative deal to join the Istanbul giants.
Having lifted the Turkish top-flight title this season ahead of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, they are also able to offer Semedo the chance to play in the Champions League in the coming campaign.
That could help convince the full-back to make this particular move as Galatasaray attempt to secure his signature.

Wolves departure is a blow
Wolves manager Vitor Periera was in favour of keeping Semedo at the club with a new contract for the former Barcelona man but he looks set to be disappointed.
As a result the news of the right-back’s impending departure will be viewed as a setback around Molineux.
Following the arrival of Pereira back in December, the club did comfortably avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
But a return of just one point from their final four league games of the season underlined the need to improve the squad if they are to climb up the table in the coming campaign.
Losing both the leadership and reliability of Semedo means Wolves will be moving in the wrong direction as they aim to strengthen the side available to Pereira.
This new therefore further adds to the pressure on the club as they head into the summer transfer window, especially as they are set to lose such a key player on a free transfer.
