49ers Watch as Trade Buzz Grows on Jalen Ramsey to NFC West

Miami Dolphins superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been one of the players in the NFL with the most buzz around him this offseason, as there is a very good chance the team trades him for cap space purposes.

And the San Francisco 49ers are not too thrilled about that.

Because the team that has reportedly shown the most interest in trading for the seven-time Pro Bowler is his former team, and the Niners division rival, the Los Angeles Rams.

Ramsey spent just over three seasons with the reigning NFC West champions, where he was a three-time Pro Bowler and was named First Team All-Pro in 2020 and 2021. He was also a key contributor in them winning Super Bowl LVI, where they beat the 49ers in the NFC Championship to get there.

He raked up 10 interceptions, 242 total tackles, and 47 passes defended in four years with the Rams, as he was one of the most feared defensive backs in the league at the time. Now he could be looking for a second stint to cement himself in the team's history books.

The Niners are coming off of a very disappointing 2024 season where they finished dead last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record. Having a corner of Ramsey's caliber come back to the division would really put a wrench in the team's plans.

San Francisco traded away star wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders earlier this offseason. So with Ramsey possibly taking his talents back to LA, the Niners' receivers will have to step up even more in 2025 to help the team compete.
