West Ham could be set to part ways with Lucas Paqueta in the summer as he waits for results from his legal battle.
The Hammers have supported the Brazil international as he awaits trial for alleged spot-fixing charges despite his general lack of form.
This has been thanks in part to the threat of a potential lifetime football ban from the FA, over supposedly taking yellow cards on purpose to impact betting markets.
Despite not yet learning of any verdict from these allegations, there is still a chance that Paqueta looks to leave the Hammers as the summer window nears.

Paqueta could complete transfer away from West Ham
There is no hiding from the fact that the 27-year-old has had a largely poor season at the London Stadium in the midst of any potential punishment.

This has seen him score just five goals, failing to provide a single assist in any competition for the Irons across the entire campaign.

It is fair to say that this has negatively impacted Graham Potter’s side and the ultimate finishing position of the East London outfit.
With that being said, a potential departure could be the best case scenario for all parties moving into the summer transfer window in E20.
This has been echoed by former West Ham player Martin Allen, who believes Paqueta could return to Brazil or even move on to seek out a new challenge.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “It must have been extremely difficult for him to manage and cope with the allegations that have been made against him.
“If he is found guilty, the repercussions for him and his family will be massive. It must have had a terrible impact on his personal life and his footballing life, and he hasn’t played well.
“If he is now looking to go back to Brazil, where his family are, and take his children back over there, you could understand it.
“He might also want another challenge and to score some goals, because he is a good player, but he has been poor for West Ham this season.
“*It is a very difficult situation for him and the club.*“

Paqueta exit could benefit West Ham
As much as the Irons would likely want to stand by the attacking midfielder throughout his court battle, finding a suitor for a potential sale could prove to be wise.
Any fee for the Brazilian would be better than nothing, especially with a potentially lengthy ban hanging over his head at the London Stadium.
This is especially the case given that Potter already has Crysencio Summerville available to him and could even bring new signings in throughout the summer.
