Mateo Joseph could be one of the first players out the door at Leeds United this summer as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
If Leeds are to break the trend of promoted teams facing an immediate relegation from the Premier League, they will need to make some serious progress this summer.
Recruitment at Elland Road is going to be crucial, and Daniel Farke could look to sign as many as ten new players to be able to compete in the top flight.
However, to accommodate that, the Whites will need to sell, not only to have a stable squad size, but also to comply with the PSR rules.

Joseph sale could alleviate PSR concerns at Elland Road
Investment is going to be needed this summer, but Leeds can only invest a specific percentage of their revenue on signings.

To comply with that, player sales will be needed, and Paul Robinson thinks Joseph could be one on his way out amid links to Real Betis.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “He’s a player that I really like, and he’s a top-class player. I think there’s a goal scorer in there as well, given time, given a run of games, but he’s not had that in the Championship, and he’s not going to get that in the Premier League.

Joseph’s league starts this season.
“So for Leeds, with the FFP, PSR, wages, clearance space in the squad, if a big bid comes in, I think he’ll be one that is moved on.
” I don’t think he would stand in his way if there was a decent bid that came in, and the chairman turned around to him and says, look, we’ve got a good bid in here for Joseph, what do you think? I think that’ll be the conversation that he has with him.
“He’s a player that’s in demand, he’s a young player. But what I would do with him, I’d get a sell-on clause or a buy-back clause, because I think that’s one that could come back and bite Leeds. £20 million does it.”

Leeds need to sign a new striker this summer
If Joseph leaves, Leeds will need at least two new strikers, though the need for a goalscorer is evident regardless.
Callum Wilson has been heavily linked with a move to Elland Road as the Whites look to bolster their squad in their attempts to achieve survival.
