Idrissa Gueye has agreed on terms for a new deal that will see him stay at Everton.

Since the arrival of David Moyes, Everton have progressed on and off the pitch, and much of that is down to the personnel at his disposal.

Moyes has been able to captivate a side that looked down and out under Sean Dyche, and completely revitalised this team, sparking optimism ahead of the new campaign.

One of the players who was instrumental in that revival was Gueye, who Everton fans feared would be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign, though that will not be the case.

Gueye deal a sign of things to come for Everton

Everton have a huge summer ahead of them, though with a deal for Gueye set to be signed, they have one less concern to think about.

However, recruitment is going to be crucial, and if Moyes is to take this club to the next level, it is imperative that he is backed with players capable of doing so.

Everton are a massive club, and it is about time that stature is reflected by performances on the pitch, and with Moyes in charge, they have the foundations to achieve that.

Toffees supporters will be eager for more positive news on the contract front when it comes to Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
