Who are Kolo Toure and Pep Lijnders?

Toure is currently one of City’s academy coaches, having returned to the club in 2024, just over a decade after leaving as a player.

Toure made 82 appearances for City between 2009 and 2013, and played a big part in their trophy-winning campaigns of 2010/11 and 2011/12.

The 44-year-old was also one of Arsenal’s Invincibles, he played for Liverpool, and he was a coach with the Ivory Coast setup, Celtic, and Leicester City.

Toure also had a short spell as manager of Wigan Athletic between November 2022 and January 2023.

Meanwhile, Lijnders is currently out of work, having last managed Red Bull Salzburg before they parted company with him in December 2024.

The 42-year-old was previously a coach at Liverpool, initially joining as development coach under Brendan Rodgers in 2014 and then becoming Jurgen Klopp’s assistant.
