LeBron James snubs Trent Alexander-Arnold in message to Liverpool 'captains'

NBA legend LeBron James sent the Liverpool locker room a message following the club's Premier League title success, with the 40-year-old sports star a long-time supporter of the Anfield soccer team.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, James recorded a video that was shown to the Reds' players, who celebrated winning the league title for a 20th time last weekend. It was clinched against Spurs last month with four games to spare, then the trophy was carried around the city for the parade on Monday.

James was previously a minority shareholder of Liverpool before he acquired a minority stake in the Reds' ownership, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), alongside his business partner, Maverick Carter. As a result, he has been a long-time fan of the club.

"I want to say congratulations to the champions of the English Premier League, once again bringing home another trophy," James said. "You know it is always special to do it with a group of guys that you love. It is super special."

James went on to give a special mention to the ‘captains’ of the team, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah. But current vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is heading to Real Madrid, was overlooked.

"Shout out to the captains, Virgil and Mo, salute to you brothers," James said.

"Continue to lead, continue to strive for greatness and always know You’ll Never Walk Alone. So go Reds. Love you guys."

James has previously been spotted sporting Liverpool FC clothing. After the major incident in Water Street shortly after the parade, he also expressed his support for those who had been injured in the car crash that hospitalized an initial 27 people.

"OMG! ! ! ! WTH [what the hell]. My deepest thoughts and prayers goes out to everyone affected that attended @LFC Premiere League trophy parade today! #YNWA," posted the stunned hoops legend from his personal social media platform.

Yesterday, Merseyside Police confirmed that seven people remained in hospital following the crash. That was the latest update issued the 53-year-old man from West Derby, who was detained at the scene, under investigation.
