The Oklahoma City Thunder sailed past the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, beating them in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals and paving a path to compete for a championship.
Unsurprisingly, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was fantastic during the game.
Additionally, he also added a major trophy to his collection.
Gilgeous-Alexander was named Western Conference Finals MVP, just days after being declared the league MVP.
According to StatMuse, that makes him the only player in league history to win both awards in the same season.

Granted, the Western Conference Finals MVP award is relatively new, and only a few people have won it.
Still, this is a big accomplishment and once again highlights just how terrific Gilgeous-Alexander has been this year.
Plus, if his team keeps playing like this, the Thunder star might be Finals MVP soon.
There is a very good chance that Gilgeous-Alexander ends this season as MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, Finals MVP, and with a championship ring.
Even before the playoffs began, Gilgeous-Alexander was one of the most celebrated players in the league and hailed as the future of the NBA.
This postseason run has only added to the praise and celebration around him.
This may be considered one of the best individual seasons for any NBA player ever.
Between the incredible regular season, the playoffs, and the awards, Gilgeous-Alexander is succeeding in just about every single way.
Of course, he isn’t done yet, and he won’t rest until he’s a champion.
He is happy to win all these honors, but will be disappointed if this doesn’t result in a title.
