Kolo Toure is set to return to football. He is being considered for a potential assisting appointment under Pep Guardiola at Man City. Toure had a successful spell at Leicester. He was part of the coaching staff while Brendan Rodgers was in charge.
He got an offer to become a manager at Wigan. However, the move turned out very different from what Toure was looking for. He was not able to turn fortunes around with The Latics as they faced a terrible run. Eventually, they were relegated from The Championship. Toure left his position long before the relegation happened.
The 44 year old will if this happens get a good and special return to his former club. He did a special and good job under Brendan Rodgers. He together with Mike Stowell, Adam Sadler and Chris Davies made a good coaching team under the current Celtic manager.
Most of the talk under the time was about Brendan Rodgers and his problems. Kolo Toure left the party during that difficult season. Looking back, his departure could have been a reason for decline.
He will potentially join Man City with former Liverpool assistant Pepijn Lijnders also part of the package. Both have a special background and knows the formulas and buttons to punch to get a final and good result.

Pep Guardiola knows his stuff. Like Sir Alex Ferguson did at Man Utd, he often changed things in his backroom staff. This helped to get a bit of change and rotation without the main man being replaced.
We hope to see Kolo Toure back in a dug out, to help Pep Guardiola.
His son Yasine Toure was on the books at Leicester, but left the club in 2024. He joined Wrexham and is part of their youth set up at the moment.
