The Oklahoma City Thunder still don’t know who they will compete against in the NBA Finals, but they know this: they hold a huge home-court advantage.
Writing on X, Bill Simmons pointed out just how well OKC has done at home in the playoffs.
He noted that they have an 8-1 record in Oklahoma City and have won those eight games by 51, 19, 43, 32, 36, 15, and 30 points.
Additionally, their sole loss in OKC was by just two points.
“So they’re +231 in 9 home games,” Simmons wrote, suggesting that whoever plays against this team has their work cut out for them.
OKC is 8-1 at home in the playoffs.
They won those 8 games by 51, 19, 43, 7, 32, 36, 15 and 30.
In the one loss (Denver, Game 1) — they were up 9 with 3 mins left and lost by 2.
So they’re +231 in 9 home games.

Everyone knew that if the Thunder got to this point, they’d be hard to beat.
There were questions about their inexperience and youth, with some thinking they couldn’t push through the competition in the West.
But they have done that, and now they will head to the Finals and face a team that is also inexperienced and hasn’t reached this point in a long time.
The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks don’t have championship experience either, so it feels like the playing field has been leveled.
That is one of the reasons why people are predicting the Thunder will become champions.
No matter who the Thunder play against, this series will start in Oklahoma City.
That means they could have two gigantic games right away and set the tone.
People say that the playoffs are different from the regular season, but the Finals are also different from the playoffs.
So the Thunder cannot get complacent and feel like they have this in the bag.
If recent history is any indication, they could score some huge wins at home.
But that doesn’t mean this upcoming series won’t be very challenging.
