Profiling the 23Y/O Winger Who Is Wanted By At Least 8 Clubs: Is He Seriously Good Enough to Succeed Mo Salah?

PSG want Maghnes Akliouche

PSG

Mo Salah has just signed a new deal but the Liverpool management are not sitting with folded hands. The Egyptian is nearing the end of his professional career and one of the names mentioned as a replacement is Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche.

Salah was on the verge of leaving as a free agent but Liverpool held their nerves and named to convince the winger to a new deal. However, the superstar will need to be replaced very soon and the Monaco talent is being named as one of their primary targets.

According to Caught Offside, the winger will be available for around €60-70 million but like any other top youngster, the Anfield outfit aren’t the only ones who are interested in him.

Which clubs have shown an interest in the 23-year-old?

Liverpool happen to be the latest club who have been linked with the French talent but in the past couple of months, his list of admirers has grown exponentially.

Premier League:

In England, apart from Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all shown an interest in the youngster.

Liverpool will be confident of landing the winger because they have just won the Premier League but we doubt someone who has played in 43 games this season will want to be a backup option to Mo Salah.

La Liga:

Like every other promising young talent, Maghnes Akliouche is also wanted by Barcelona and Real Madrid. A move to Barca seems highly unlikely with Lamine Yamal in the squad but if Rodrygo leaves, Madrid could very well sign Akliouche as the Brazilian’s long-term replacement.

Ligue 1:

Back in France, PSG also wish to sign him but the Parisian giants are hesitant to meet Monaco’s valuation. However, PSG are being named as the favourites in this transfer race because the winger’s new agent is close to the club and he reportedly prefers to play for them.

Who is Maghnes Akliouche?

The 23-year-old is primarily a right-winger but occasionally he’s also played as an attacking midfielder. Born in France, he has come up through the ranks at Monaco and he made his senior debut for the club in the 22/23 season.

Since then, he has played in 96 games in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 17 assists. Based on multiple reports, Maghnes Akliouche is a technically gifted player who has exceptional ball control and he excels at breaking defensive lines with his pinpoint through balls.

He can retain possession under pressure and his off-the-ball movement helps unlock tight defences.
