After being released by the San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Falcons signed veteran edge rusher Leonard Floyd to a one-year, $10 million deal.
During the first day of voluntary OTAs for the Falcons, Floyd would be asked what it was like out there with this new group of guys and teammates. Floyd would say, "It went great. I love the guys. It's a collection of guys who are ready to win." Floyd would also be asked where he feels like he fits in the group of some other veterans and the new draft picks.

"I feel like I fit right in. I'm a guy who's been through a lot as far as my career. I've got a lot of experience, and I'm just coming in, giving as much knowledge to the guys that I can."
Floyd was also asked what it was like seeing another Georgia guy (Jalon Walker) going early in the draft and joining up with them in Atlanta. "It's great, I can actually tell he was a Georgia guy by the way he practiced today. Running to the ball, hustling hard, it was great, it was great to see him doing that, and I was like, that reminds me of my time coming out of Georgia. I came out and just went hard."
Floyd is a former Georgia Bulldog who was taken 9th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. Over his career in the NFL, he has appeared in 138 games with 137 starts. He has totaled 412 tackles, 66.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 7 fumble recoveries. He will be looked on as a veteran to improve Atlanta's pass rush defense, which has been lacking for years.
