Fabrizio Romano has taken to X tonight to confirm that Daniel Cummings will join West Ham United on July 1st. The deal is done, with an agreement reached between the player and the Premier League club. Romano reports that a €300,000 compensation fee will be paid to Celtic as part of the move.
Cummings has had a standout season at youth level, scoring 26 goals in 27 appearances across the Lowland League and UEFA Youth League.

His performances didn’t go unnoticed, and he even made his senior debut for Celtic earlier this year. Despite the club’s interest in keeping him, the striker has decided to move on.
In January, West Ham had already shown strong interest in the player and made a bid worth around £500,000, but Celtic turned it down. As his contract runs out this summer, the London club took the opportunity to agree a pre-contract deal.

Brendan Rodgers had hoped Cummings would stay, believing he had a future in the first team. But with an apparent clearer path to senior football in the Premier League, Cummings has taken the opportunity.

The move is a blow to Celtic’s youth development plans, as another promising talent departs before fully breaking through.
The Hoops will now receive a relatively small fee due to cross-border rules, while West Ham gain a highly rated young striker for their future plans.
