Keith Downie shares how Alexander Isak is feeling ahead of the summer, he has a request for…

Keith Downie believes Alexander Isak completely agrees with a recent statement from Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes ahead of next season.

Eddie Howe has done a sensational job with the Magpies this season, winning a cup and securing Champions League football on the final day of the Premier League season.

Qualification opens up many avenues for Newcastle United this summer as they look to bolster their options ahead of what will be a very busy season.

Newcastle are looking to sign five big names in the upcoming transfer window, including Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo and Crystal Palace ace Marc Guehi. Recent reports have claimed that Newcastle are ready to sign Mbeumo and Guehi as they look to do their transfer business early.

Bruno Guimaraes has called for more signings at Newcastle, and a journalist has claimed that Alexander Isak and one other Toon star are in complete agreement.

Alexander Isak wants new signings at Newcastle United after Champions League qualification

European nights are coming back to Newcastle next season, and while there were dream nights like the historic 4-1 win against PSG at St James’ Park, Howe had to do it with a severely weakened squad.

Newcastle suffered horrifically with injuries last season, which completely derailed their Champions League campaign and effectively cost them European football for the 2024/25 campaign.

Guimaraes admitted Newcastle’s squad was “short” on the pitch at full-time against Everton on the final day of the season, a subtle cry to club officials to bring players in this summer.

Now, according to Keith Downie on his Sky Sports blog, Isak and Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon are expecting the same thing.

The two attackers were an integral part of Newcastle’s 2023/24 campaign and were arguably the club’s two best players that season. They will be well aware of what Newcastle can do in the transfer market this summer and expect Howe and his recruitment team to deliver.

An update on Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United

While Isak is expecting new signings at Newcastle this summer, there is still speculation over his long-term future at the club.

Isak has interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, but Newcastle are adamant that the Swede will stay for at least one more season.

From the same Sky Sports blog, Downie added that Isak will be more satisfied knowing he will be playing in the Champions League if he stays at Newcastle, but he does feel like Isak sees another move for himself in the future.

Newcastle want a new contract for Isak, but if a deal fails to be made this summer it could mean he leaves next season.

Downie adds that he expects at least one more season of Isak at Newcastle.
