Newcastle United could look to complete a shock move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to reports - with his uncertain future in Spain potentially seeing him move on to Eddie Howe's squad in the coming weeks.

The Magpies have been looking to add a world-class player to compete in their squad, and they see the Brazilian as the 'ideal candidate' to continue their adventures on the continent. Rodrygo has been at Real since June 2019, after a €45million (£40million) deal was announced a year before - and he currently has a record of 68 goals and 50 assists in 267 games for the Spanish giants, making his name as one of their most consistent attackers under departing boss Carlo Ancelotti.
With three La Liga titles, two Champions League trophies and a Copa del Rey to his name, the forward has extensive experience to his name at the age of just 24, but with Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe outshining him in Madrid, it's changed his role and Newcastle have now positioned themselves as one of the main interested parties for the signature of the 'world-class superstar'.
