Liverpool star shuts down exit rumors with strong message of commitment

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has firmly dismissed speculation about his future at the club, confirming he has no plans to leave Anfield anytime soon.

Despite limited minutes during Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning campaign, the 32-year-old insists that he remains fully committed to the team.

Speaking to Japanese broadcaster, ABEMA, Endo was asked if he would be more interested in playing for Liverpool than playing at another club and he responded:

“Well, yes. I think Liverpool is a club that is worth that much. If you ask me if I want to throw away the chance to play for Liverpool and move to another team, the answer is no. I believe that focusing on how many titles I can win with Liverpool will be the best thing in my career.”

His response was sparked by questions from friends, teammates, and even family members, all curious about his plans for next season. Endo added:

“I’ve heard about it. Everyone’s talking about it. My friends contact me, and they ask me what my family is going to do. Sometimes I talk to other players about, ‘Are you here next year?’ Especially after the middle of the season. But I’m basically here.”

Endo’s quiet influence and value to the squad

Although he started only few matches in the league, Endo frequently came off the bench to help Liverpool close out games with composure and experience.

His performances, while not always newsworthy, were vital in securing narrow victories throughout the season.

Reflecting on his role, Endo revealed that being the late-game substitute became his niche during the title run.

“When we were winning, I would come on at the end and make sure we brought home the three points,” he said in same interview. “In a way, it was a role that I earned for myself. I kept thinking about how I could contribute to the team in the situation I was in.”

Endo will continue to be an important member of the club as Liverpool prepares to defend their Premier League title in the 2025/2026 season thanks to his professionalism and understanding of what it means to play for Liverpool.
