Arsenal’s quest for a marquee striker has taken a significant step forward, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Gunners have initiated “initial concrete talks” for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
In a tweet posted on May 29, 2025, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Sesko, a long-term target for Mikel Arteta and the club’s recruitment team, is firmly in Arsenal’s sights. The Slovenian striker’s potential move could be a game-changer for the Gunners as they aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Sesko, a 21-year-old forward, has been on Arsenal’s radar since last summer, with the club laying groundwork for a potential deal that never materialised.

His 13 goals and five assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances this season, despite Leipzig’s disappointing seventh-place finish, have only heightened interest from top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
With a reported release clause of around £67 million, Sesko represents a high-value investment, though Leipzig are holding firm for a fee closer to £92.5 million.
Fabrizio Romano recent update underscores Arsenal’s determination to secure Sesko, noting that previous attempts in May 2024 and January 2025 were rebuffed by Leipzig. However, with the Bundesliga side missing out on European football, Sesko’s departure seems increasingly likely.

The 6-foot-5 striker’s blend of pace, physicality, and clinical finishing makes him an ideal fit for Arteta’s system, offering a dynamic presence to complement Kai Havertz and challenge for a starting spot.
While Arsenal are also linked with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, Sesko’s youth and potential give him an edge as a long-term investment.
