Former Thunder Player Sends Blunt Message to Anthony Edwards

The NBA, ESPN, and the rest of the national media have been pushing for Anthony Edwards to be the face of the league for a year now. He is an electric athlete, is highly quotable, and is American-born, which for some reason really seems to matter in "face of the league" talks.

However, he has twice now lost in the Western Conference Finals, falling to the Dallas Mavericks last season and the Oklahoma City Thunder this year.

Edwards is well-known for talking trash, but one former player thinks he should keep to himself until he's won at the highest level.

Edwards has always been one to speak his mind, and as the Phoenix Suns lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2022 playoffs, Edwards was at home watching, although that didn't stop him from calling the Suns "a disgrace" and "terrible."

Eddie Johnson, who won Sixth Man of the Year with the Suns in 1989 before suiting up for the Seattle SuperSonics, reposted the video after the Wolves lost Game 5 to the Thunder, and had some advice for Edwards.

The Thunder routed Edwards and the Timberwolves, sending them packing in five games and beating them by 30 points in the final game, allowing only nine points in the fourth quarter. Edwards scored an inefficient 19 points in the elimination game.

While Edwards and the Wolves are clearly one of the better teams in the league, until he has a ring on his finger, a lot of his rivals will have something to hold over his head.
