The star in question here is Rayan Cherki of Lyon. He is only 21 years old but a regular starter for French club. This season, he has been superb. Cherki has scored 12 goals and picked 20 assists in 44 games across all competitions.
Lyon are struggling with major financial issues. They need to register sales or else might get relegated to Ligue 2. Cherki has been their academy player who can bring in pure profit. Hence, they are said to make him available for £20 million in the summer transfer window.
Cherki is wanted by both Man United and Man City in summer window. But, the 21 year old has now handed boost to the Red side of Manchester. According to Football Insider, Cherki is not fully convinced to join Man City this summer.
City already have a very good attacking squad. Hence, Cherki can struggle for regular game-time. This will make it hard for them to convince the 21 year old. On the other hand, Cherki can play regularly and a big role for Ruben Amorim’s side.
