Chelsea look set to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, which could trigger a couple other transfer dominoes within the squad, including young Marc Guiu going the other way, on loan.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Guiu is a “priority target” for Ipswich, and they “have offered” a loan move to him already. It’s not clear if Guiu would be interested in this, though on paper it looks like a pretty solid option for the 19-year-old striker, whom we nabbed for just €6m from Barcelona’s academy last summer.
Guiu played mostly in the Conference League last season before getting hurt and missing practically the entire second half of the season. He just made his return to action last night, coming on for the final few minutes of our 4-1 Conference League final victory over Real Betis. Getting more consistent playing time next season would do wonders for his development and adjustment to football in England, and the Championship would be the perfect place for that.
