Man United could accept offers of £80-100million for Bruno Fernandes in the summer transfer window, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that talks have been held about his future behind the scenes.
Ruben Amorim is keen to keep the 30-year-old at the club and he remains an important part of his squad, but the club believe everybody has a price.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 23 May that Al-Hilal are readying an £80million offer for Fernandes to persuade Man United to let him go.
After missing out on European football entirely, United have found themselves in a tricky financial position which means it will be hard to turn down “ridiculous” offers.
Meanwhile, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that it would take an “extraordinarily large” fee to let Fernandes leave.

Man United to make Fernandes decision after ‘ridiculous’ offer
Brown told Football Insider on 16 May that United are not prepared to let Fernandes leave this summer despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.
The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, has now explained that a decision will have to be made if a big offer arrives.
“Man United have got to make a decision about Bruno Fernandes,” he told Football Insider.
“From the manager’s point of view, he’ll want him to stay because he’s a big part of his squad and the player they can build the team around.
“But it’s still very much up in the air and it’s become the subject of plenty of speculation.
“They’ve been speaking about it behind the scenes and what they’re saying is, they want him to stay, but everybody has a price.
“If somebody comes in with a ridiculous offer for him, the £80-100million range which has been spoken about, then it will be difficult to say no.
“The financial situation they’re in after missing out on Europe means big-money offers will tempt them.
“If something like that comes in, then they’re going to have a decision to make.”

Ruben Amorim ‘forcing Alejandro Garnacho out’
Fernandes is not the only big-name player who could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer amid speculation about Alejandro Garnacho’s future.
Brown told Football Insider on 27 May that Amorim has forced Garnacho out at Man United and has been attempting to move him on for “months”.
The winger was left “upset” after he was left out of the starting XI in the Europa League final, and was then excluded from the squad for the final game of the season.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 24 May that Garnacho could quit Man United after growing unhappy about his treatment under Amorim.
