Cody Gakpo would be reportedly open to joining Bayern Munich as they are one of the three clubs in the world he would leave Liverpool for.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Cody Gakpo could still leave Liverpool in the summer if the right opportunity arrives. Amid reported interest from Bayern Munich, the German giants are seemingly one of the three clubs in the world the Dutchman would leave Liverpool for.
Liverpool are moving very fast in the market to secure top signings, as they have already agreed on a deal for Jeremie Frimpong and are closing in on Milos Kerkez as their next one. Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz could be the next in line, with the German international very close to joining the club in what could be a massive move for the Merseysiders.
Rumours point at Arne Slot’s eagerness to revamp his attacking setup, as a new left winger and a striker could be the next names on Liverpool’s agenda. There are already links to Hugo Ekitike, while the recruitment on the wing will depend on what transpires of Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo’s future.
Both those forwards have played good enough minutes this season, with Arne Slot making a case for using them well during the campaign. Liverpool could sell either of those, with the club seemingly open to offers for the Dutchman if suitors can meet their conditions for a deal.
Arne Slot might want to keep Gakpo in the team for what he offers with his versatility to play on the wings as well as a striker, although that is also what Diaz does. Hence, Liverpool might consider offers, with Bayern Munich one of those keen to land the 26-year-old Liverpool star which might see them even pay big to make their case.
Cody Gakpo could be open to Bayern Munich move
Gakpo would reportedly leave Liverpool for only three clubs in the world, with Bayern Munich part of the trio. The Bavarians could enter the market for a new wide attacker if they cannot agree on an extension with Leroy Sane, while there are doubts over Kingsley Coman’s future at the club. Bayern Muncih sporting director Max Eberl has maintainted contact with Gakpo’s camp, but there is nothing more to it beyond that.
The 26-year-old Liverpool star could potentially be seen as a viable replacement for either of those wingers, although any move will depend on his asking price. It remains to be seen whether Cody Gakpo would realistically leave a thriving club like Liverpool for a new challenge, as there are huge chances of Arne Slot ending up keeping the Dutchman in the team.
