A bloke sharing a name with the man accused of ploughing into a crowd at the Liverpool FC parade and injuring 79 people, has taken to X to post a succinct but on-point tweet.
Paul Doyle, of West Derby, Liverpool, is now being held by authorities after being identified as the driver involved in the Liverpool Parade incident during a police conference earlier today, Thursday, May 29.
The 53-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intention of grievous bodily harm and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. The charges, seven in total, were announced at the conference, where the man previously described as a "fantastic guy" was named publicly by police.

As the suspect was named for the first time since the incident on Monday May 26, another Paul Doyle took to social media shorty after to sum up his predicament.
The other Paul Doyle - who says he is an LFC season ticket holder - posted a brief message which read: “Ffs”. The acronym, which stands for ‘for f*** sake’ was accompanied by an emoji of a blonde man slapping his forehead, followed by two crying-with-laughter emojis.

The post, which has been viewed more than 125,000 times, garnered may comments, many of which also find the lighter side of this Paul’s predicament.
“Most famous you’re ever gonna be. Just not for the right reasons.
Be quick, might be able to spin a £££ off your new found following by advertising products,” one person commented, while another wrote: “Put a picture of Shaggy up, with the caption ‘It wasn’t me’”.

A third person, connecting the similarities between the Pauls, noted: “Lucky you’re not a LFC season ticket holder [from] the North West…. ”.
One earnest person looking out for the other Paul’s back wrote (in caps): “Guys it isn’t him it’s someone with the same name do not harass this man”, while a someone called James Brown commented that he gets asked if he feels good “almost daily”.
People who know the Paul Doyle facing charges have expressed confusion over the arrest, claiming he is a “normal” man.

A neighbour living down the cul-de-sac where he lived with his wife and three sons told the Mirror that “it just doesn’t make sense”.
They said: “It seems completely out of character. They are such a nice family, the boys are really nice and well-behaved. [He] is a fantastic guy.
“It just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t feel right. They are lovely. The whole thing is so sad - for his wife and children and also for the people who were injured.”
