Jakobi Meyers Has Strong Response to Question About Raiders Future

Not a lot went right for the Las Vegas Raiders last season, especially on offense. The offense really took a hit when star wide receiver Davante Adams requested a trade.

One player who stepped up for the team was wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. Despite the Raiders starting three different quarterbacks throughout the season, who all struggled to varying degrees, Meyers had a career year.

He had 87 catches for 1,027 yards, which were both career highs. Meyers is now entering the last year of a three-year contract he signed with the Raiders before the 2023 season. The team has a new general manager and head coach in John Spytek and Pete Carroll, so it remains to be seen if they want to keep Meyers around long term.

If it were up to him, he'd stay in Las Vegas past the 2025 season.

"I want to be here for sure, but that's all I can really say on it right now," Meyers said when asked about his Raiders future during a Thursday press conference. "That's business between us and the top floor, so I'm just gonna hold that one down for now."

Punter A.J. Cole, defensive tackle Adam Butler and defensive end Maxx Crosby are the only three returning players that Spytek has given extensions to. That could be because he's waiting to get a better feel for the roster.

Meyers should be high atop his list of players to consider extending. He's easily the Raiders' best wide receiver, and he keeps to himself, unlike many other No. 1 wide receivers around the NFL.
