Chelsea are clearly setting out to make waves in the upcoming transfer window, looking to Viktor Gyokeres to reinforce their attack for next season’s campaigns.

The London-based club have already added Liam Delap to their ranks, beating Manchester United to the punch, with Champions League being a defining factor for the move.

Now United are back to the drawing board whilst Chelsea show no signs of stopping, turning to another United target, with The Red Devils having been linked to the Sweden international since Ruben Amorim moved to Old Trafford.

Record Portugal has reported the interest, with Chelsea joining Juventus in chasing the striker’s signature.

Chelsea join race for Manchester United target Viktor Gyokeres

With 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 games across all competitions, winning the Liga Portugal and Taca de Portugal, it’s no surprise that Gyokeres has found himself on everyone’s watchlists.

However, United have been unable to make their dream move happen due to their lack of Champions League football and their lack of funds to sign off his £62.5 million release clause.

Now, the door has been left firmly open with the belief that Gyokeres will be moving in the summer instead of remaining with Sporting Lisbon.

Unfortunately, United may have to come to terms with facing both Delap and Gyokeres on the same Chelsea squad as The Red Devils look to other targets.

However, with Chelsea having signed Delap, holding concrete talks with Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as declaring interest in Gyokeres, it’s extremely unlikely that all three will be in the Chelsea shirt next season.
