Man City could now sell one of their best academy stars for just £10m as club makes contact -…

Manchester City have a big summer on the horizon as they look to strengthen their ranks ahead of an important 2025/26 campaign.

It’s not just about incomings, however. Manchester City are likely to move some players on, for financial / PSR reasons and also because Pep Guardiola likes a small squad.

Selling academy players is especially profitable for Premier League clubs, as youth players have very low amortised values and sales can be counted almost as ‘pure profit’.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported that City have placed a price tag of £10million on one of their best academy talents amid interest from England and France.

Fabrizio Romano says Manchester City value Divin Mubama at £10million amid Ipswich and Lille interest

Romano has reported that Ipswich are considering a move for City Under-21s star Divin Mubama, and have made contact with the Citizens over terms.

The transfer insider has suggested that City are open to selling Mubama, placing a £10million valuation on the striker.

Why Manchester City could be making a serious mistake by selling Divin Mubama

Mubama joined City from West Ham United a year ago for a reported £2million fee.

The 20-year-old has made waves at the club, splitting his time between the City U21s and the senior squad.

Mubama, an England Under-20 international, has made two senior outings to date for City, and also has one senior goal to his name.

His overall tally this season reads 16 appearances, 17 goals and four assists, suggesting he’s ready for a step up.

Jarrod Bowen has previously praised Mubama, calling him “sharp”, while David Moyes said: “His mentality and attitude are as good as any top player.

“He is so determined and works incredibly hard for the team.”

All in all, Mubama looks like he could develop into a top player, and it would be a real shame to lose him – and for just £10million.

City fans have sang Mubama’s praises in recent months, including in the club’s recent Premier League 2 playoff triumph.

City have sold their fair share of top talents over the years, and many of them are gracing other Premier League sides – this could be another similar mistake should they sell Mubama.
