The future of Jadon Sancho is all set to be decided in the coming days as Chelsea have emerged victorious in the UEFA Conference League beating Real Betis 4-1.

Prior to the game, Enzo Maresca commented on the focus being with the final, and for transfer decisions to take place after the game, specifically with regard to Sancho.

The Chelsea manager commented: “Tomorrow, we have the final and then in the next 24 or 48 hours we will talk about the future but no decision has been made on Jadon or any other player.”

However, with the game out of the way, real discussions can begin over the London-based clubs decision to pay £25 million to sign him, or pay £5 million to send him back to Old Trafford.

It’s understood that Chelsea are in fact keen to retain the attacker, however face one major obstacle to agreeing his permanent move.

Chelsea demand wage cut for Jadon Sancho

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea are in active talks with Sancho’s agent to keep him at Stamford Bridge, however his wages provide the biggest obstacle to agreeing on his transfer.

As such, Chelsea are holding firm that Sancho would have to accept a drop in his £300,000 per week wage to make his temporary move permanent.

Whilst it’s not yet known how Sancho is responding to this demand, an answer and decision on his future is expected in the coming days.
