Everton open talks on new Idrissa Gueye deal

**Everton have opened talks to extend Idrissa Gueye’s stay.**

Gueye became an integral figure following David Moyes’ return and was recently voted both the club’s Player and Players’ Player of the Season.

The Senegal international is currently set to become a free agent at the end of June with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League regular touted.

However the Blues are preparing to offer Gueye fresh terms after triggering a 12-month extension in his existing deal at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

A two-year contract is understood to be in the offing for the 35-year-old in efforts to extend his second spell on Merseyside to a full five years.

Gueye originally left Everton in summer 2019 for Paris Saint-Germain before returning three years later on a nominal fee in the region of £2 million.

Meanwhile Moyes’ side are set to tie up a deal for Charly Alcaraz in the next week after confirming discussions are ongoing with parent club Flamengo.

The Argentine, who scored the winner in last Sunday’s Premier League win at Newcastle, is expected to command a £15M fee from the Brasilerao outfit.

However Everton are preparing to concede defeat in their pursuit of Liam Delap as the Ipswich Two forward looks set to seal a move to Chelsea.
