One can say that to become one of the highest paid guards in the NFL is enough reason for one to sign with another team but Aaron Banks has another motivation why he chose the Green Bay Packers.

Banks signed a four-year $77 million contract with Green Bay on March, making him one of the veterans in the team. The signing was not an outright hit amongst fans but offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich believes they got a stud in Banks and he is excited for him to elevate the team.

Banks feels the same way about the Packers. He thinks it is an exciting young organization and that is why he only needed one word to give his ‘yes’ to his agent.

“I didn’t get a lot of contact from my agent [Kyle McCarthy] until the [negotiating] window opened on that Monday,” Banks told reporters after their Wednesday OTA.

“He hit me and was like, ‘Hey we got good news. Think cheese.’ So, I was like, ‘All right, deal’s done. Sounds good.’”

Aaron Banks on what excites him about new team

Experience is what Banks brings to the table. He was a starter in the San Francisco 49ers’ Super Bowl bid in 2024 and continued being a key cog in the next season.

He has been exposed to competitive atmosphere and that’s what sold him to Green Bay.

“I think it’s a very competitive and hard-working team, just playing against them, playing against this defense,” he said.

“You know it’s different when you see it on tape versus actually playing against a team and kind of seeing the brotherhood and the culture that they have here. So, I was excited to join it.”
