Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray celebrates a goal
Victor Osimhen has been one of many strikers linked with a summer move to Manchester United
Manchester United supporters will be keenly observing the summer transfer window following a disappointing season.
Ruben Amorim's squad ended the 2024/25 campaign with their worst-ever Premier League finish (15th) after being beaten in the Europa League final by Tottenham Hotspur last Wednesday. However, the Reds did manage to secure their first home league victory since February, winning 2-0 over Aston Villa on the final day.
They are now approaching one of the most crucial transfer windows in recent memory, with Matheus Cunha set to become United's first summer signing. There is also a host of players speculated to be leaving Old Trafford. The Manchester Evening News has learned that the club would entertain offers for any player.
Below are some of the latest headlines surrounding United as well as a view on each one...
Osimhen 'swap'
United are reportedly talking to Napoli about a swap involving Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund - plus a substantial fee.
It is claimed that Napoli are willing to let United have their prize if they are ready to hand over Hojlund and around £33.5million, according to local outlet Il Napolista.
Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News: "This would be a dream scenario for United. Hojlund has been out of his depth at Old Trafford, and getting Osimhen for around £30m in return would be a steal."
Garnacho stance
Amad has said he hopes United team-mate Alejandro Garnacho will be at Old Trafford next season after Ruben Amorim reportedly told the winger he should find a new club.
During a pre-match press conference with Amorim ahead of United’s match against Hong Kong, the Ivorian told reporters: "Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team.
"I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season. It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now, I think."
Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News: "It feels best for both parties that Garnacho leaves, particularly if he secures a move abroad. His academy status means that United should get a decent PSR boost with his sale which should allow them to sign more players to suit Amorim's system this summer."
