Liverpool are planning to spend big this summer after winning the Premier League title in 2024/25. If all the rumours come true, the Reds could build one of the strongest playing XIs in Europe for the next season.
The summer transfer window is still yet to open, but Liverpool aren’t waiting until then.
The club have already signed Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold (set to be announced once the window opens) and are pushing strongly to bring German midfielder Florian Wirtz to Anfield, according to multiple reports.
Arne Slot might be preparing to play with a four-man midfield formation and two forwards up front.

How Liverpool could line up next season if all the potential transfers get completed
Alisson Becker – The Brazilian is going strong for next season to protect the goal for the Reds. Arne Slot heavily believes in him, and he’ll remain Liverpool’s No. 1.
Virgil van Dijk – The Dutchman will continue as club captain next season. After renewing his contract at Liverpool this year, he’s ready to lead the team and anchor the backline again.
Ibrahima Konate – The 26-year-old centre-back was reportedly on Real Madrid’s radar recently, but Liverpool made it clear he’s untouchable. He’s set to partner Van Dijk at the back next season as well.
Jeremie Frimpong (Deal Done) – According to multiple reports, Frimpong is going to be Liverpool’s first signing of the summer. He’s set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who’s leaving the club after 20 years to join Real Madrid most probably before the Club World Cup. The Dutch right-back has been a long-term target for Arne Slot and is set to be seen in a Liverpool shirt very soon.
Milos Kerkez (Rumoured) – As per reports from Fabrizio Romano, Kerkez could become a Liverpool player very soon, with talks at an advanced stage with Bournemouth. The Hungarian left-back is being considered a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson and might start ahead of him on the left flank next season.
Ryan Gravenberch – The former Bayern Munich midfielder joined Liverpool in 2023 and played a key role in this year’s title-winning campaign. He also won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award. He’s expected to play as a defensive midfielder, as Slot may be shifting to a four-man midfield setup.
Dominik Szoboszlai – The Hungarian international is set to play a No. 8 role under Slot, likely alongside fellow teammate Gravenberch. He may take on a deeper role in midfield, similar to what we saw in the final games of the 2024/25 season.
Alexis Mac Allister – The World Cup winner was the main creative force in Liverpool’s midfield this season. The Argentine should continue to anchor the midfield next season as well.
Florian Wirtz (Rumoured) – According to reports (via Fabrizio Romano), the German midfielder is Liverpool’s top target this summer. Talks with Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced stages, and the club is currently negotiating the transfer fee. If Wirtz lands at Anfield, he could be assigned a role similar to Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid over the past two seasons (our new attacking midfielder).
Hugo Ekitike (Rumoured) – With Darwin Nunez potentially leaving, as per multiple reports, Liverpool are targeting French striker Hugo Ekitike (reports via Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg) to line up alongside Mohamed Salah in the attack next season.
Mohamed Salah – The Egyptian goalscorer has already renewed his contract with Liverpool until 2027. After winning the Premier League Player of the Season award, Salah will be heading into next season ready to lead the Reds’ attack once again.
As Mohamed Salah said earlier after lifting the Premier League trophy, “The team is going in the right direction. They’ve made good signings and there are signings that they are talking about which haven’t been completed but there’s been serious talks.”
These statements clearly show that Liverpool are planning big and looking forward to winning every possible trophy next season.
If all the rumours come true, Arne Slot could have one of the strongest Liverpool playing XIs in recent years.
