Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes Jeremie Frimpong could deputize for Mohamed Salah, as well as replacing Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield, should that deal get done — while he is a big fan of Milos Kerkez too.
Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Frimpong, who has a $39 million (£30 million) release clause written into his contract and supposedly flew to England for a medical earlier in the week, is one target for Liverpool. And Murphy would be intrigued by the prospect of seeing him in the Premier League.
"He's very dynamic and very talented, that is for sure," he tells Liverpool.com. "I was a little surprised only because he is not really an out-and-out right-back; he has generally played in a wing-back role and was a winger when he was younger.
"But of course, if you play wing-back, you are very aware of your defensive duties, and he is quick and strong enough to play full-back. And I suppose at the price, it is good business because he can also fill in for Mohamed Salah if Salah gets injured or needs a rest.
"I don't think it means that Conor Bradley won't be used — it is a 60-game season, with four competitions, and Bradley has had a couple of injuries already and is young and learning, which takes time.
"So I think it is good business, and he is very much an attack-minded full-back, if you like; his assists are really high, he is a good crosser of the ball, and he is going to be dynamic down that side.
"It is just how and when Arne Slot uses either of them, and maybe in what formation. I don't think he will adapt from a back four, but it gives him the possibility of playing a different way as well."

On the opposite side of the Liverpool defense, Fabrizio Romano has reported Bournemouth star Kerkez has "said yes" to a move to Anfield. He is valued at around $60 million (£45 million).
"We've been spoiled at Liverpool over the years with the full-backs being so attack-minded and dynamic," Murphy says. "Kerkez is a bit like Robbo in some ways — loves getting up and down.
"I've seen him live four times this season and he has got a real power about him. He is strong and he likes a battle, but he is tidy as well.
"One thing that has really impressed me is his crossing. He puts in a hell of a good ball and he doesn't waste time in putting it in there.
"There isn't much missing from his game. The only thing with someone like Kerkez, like with any young player, is that he hasn't played at a big club.

"How will he adapt to playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe? Every game, you have got to win and play well, or you are going to get scrutinized and analyzed.
"That's the only thing but watching him play, he looks to have a real belief in himself and he doesn't get fazed with one-on-one defending. I think he would be a really good buy and with Robbo, would play plenty of games for the next year or two before taking over from him."
Murphy also told Liverpool.com of his excitement around a potential deal for Florian Wirtz. Talks are continuing with the Reds hoping to conclude a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the player, who had courted interest from Bayern Munich.
"If Wirtz doesn't excite you, you don't like football!" Murphy said. "This lad plays free. He has got this wonderful belief in himself, great feet, and his vision — sometimes he sees passes that are like 'Woah'."
